More than four hundred people attended a rally in Vancouver on Saturday to pressure Liberal-turned-Tory David Emerson to resign.

It's another forum for people to vent their anger with Emerson. Organizers of two online petitions say they have gathered more than 20,000 signatures in a week.

And another rally is planned for Emerson's riding office on Sunday afternoon.

But he told the CBC that he had no plans to quit.

Saturday's meeting at a school was organized by provincial NDP politicians, but Liberals and Conservatives were also present. ... angered people all across the polticial spectrum.

"I've been disenfranchised. I've been robbed of my democratic right as a Canadian citizen as surely as somebody took my vote, looked at it in the booth, decided they didn't like it, and discarded it. But it's worse, they changed it," said a voter called Kerry.

But others have supported his move. Emerson says he can best serve the voters of Vancouver Kingsway from inside the cabinet. ... Emerson arrived in Vancouver from Ottawa on Friday night but he has yet to speak publicly to his constituents . ...
