GAZA, Palestine, April 12, 2006 (IPC + WAFA) - -
Medical sources declared today that two Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli occupation forces east of Gaza Strip, while dozens of school pupils suffered suffocation when Israeli troops fired poisonous gas grenades inside their school in the city of Ramallah.

Sources at the Ministry of Health asserted that two Palestinians were killed east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Al Qarara, when Israeli forces opened fire at them. The sources confirmed that Israeli forces continue to withhold their bodies.

Furthermore, security sources said that the killed Palestinians were identified as resistance activists from Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the militant arm of Fateh movement, and were identified as Ibrahim Masoud and Mohammed Al Amoudi, both residents of Jabalya Refugee Camp, north of the Strip.

Meanwhile, dozens of pupils at Anata School in the city of Ramallah suffered suffocations when Israeli soldiers fired gas and stun grenades inside the school yard, during the recess time.

Eyewitnesses said that the pupils of the school were outside in the yard during recess time when several gas and stun grenades fell inside, causing dozens of them to suffocate on the poisonous gas, while others went outside and confronted the Israeli soldiers, who were guarding the construction site for the Israeli Apartheid Wall near the school.

On August 15, 2005 Israeli forces bulldozed 880 square meters of the school yard in order to appropriate it for the construction of the Wall.

In the meantime, Israeli forces manning the Beit Eba military checkpoint, west of Nablus City, arrested a citizen this afternoon, whose identity was not known yet, and led him to an undisclosed location.

The Israeli soldiers also detained dozens of youth at the same checkpoint for baseless reasons, as part of stepping up its arbitrary measures on Nablus City.
