dead miners in us

as i watch the tv news, family members are angry over hearing that family members were alive, only to hear that one survived. was it human error, or was it misleading inappropriate misinformation to give hope? but the families angry and are asking why were they lied to and given false hope.

does it matter if this mis information is in the US regarding a local accident or when the US government plants false stories in international papers regarding the iraq war, or misleads the iraq people.

first report said,
One body has been found in the mine where 13 miners were trapped after an explosion, a Red Cross volunteer tells CNN.

then three hours later,
Despite earlier reports, family members in West Virginia now say only one trapped miner brought out alive. All 12 others dead.
