Conservative Leader Stephen Harper admitted during the January 10 Leaders Debate that his promises on the so-called “fiscal imbalance” will put Canada into deficit or force him to radically slash the federal government.
Mr. Harper stated during the Leaders Debate: “I have said a number of times that I'm very interested in the Seguin Report.”
THE FACTS
The Seguin Report recommended an initial $8 billion annual transfer to the provinces, and will likely mean $40 billion over five years.
Where does Stephen Harper plan to find $40 billion extra dollars above his tax cuts and other spending promises?
