What are Stephen Harper’s Conservatives Trying to Hide?

Ottawa – Today the Conservatives were forced to re-issue their platform costing after the Liberal exposed $26 billion in hidden spending cuts.
The Conservatives first denied there was a problem, then quietly re-issued their platform costing late Friday night with the inclusion of a brand new table outlining an additional $23 billion in “moderating spending.”
“Moderating spending,” to most Canadians, means deep cuts to valued government programs and those who deliver them.
It wasn’t that Conservative Finance Critic Monte Solberg or Conservative Leader Stephen Harper couldn’t make their platform numbers add up for Canadians, it was that they deliberately didn’t want Canadians to know about their planned cuts.
So what’s at stake Mr. Harper? What will it be? Support for seniors?
Funding for health care? Affordable housing? The New Deal for Cities?
With $23 billion to cut, there’s a lot at stake and lots to cut.
Come clean, Mr. Harper. Canadians deserve to know.
