Ex US Civil Administrator critcises conduct of Spanish troops

The ex United States Civil Administrator in Iraq, Paul Bremer, has published a new book in which he harshly criticises the conduct of Spanish troops when they were stationed there. ‘They sit on their tanks and do nothing’ he said –‘It’s outrageous’. He says he spoke to the then Spanish Prime Minister, José María Aznar about the matter, but that he did not believe that the Spanish troops behaved in that way.

He makes the claim in the book ‘My Year in Iraq’ – The struggle to build a future of hope.
