... The event came on a day of new bloodshed in Iraq, where the one-day death toll from several attacks was at least 130.

The White House made the rare move of mentioning the violence. "We have seen that today has been a tough day in Iraq," White House press secretary Scott McClellan said. "We know the enemy wants to disrupt the transition to democracy and disrupt the formation of a new government. But every step of the way they have failed."...

maybe bush should be asking the iraq people, not his iraq puppets, or his other destructive peers for advice! perhaps bush should take a long hard look at his definition of democracy and freedom, and keep it to himself.

bush should enlist his children into the us military and fight for freedom. better yet, bush and his family and the rest of his peers should become citizens of iraq and live there as a resident. maybe, and only then will bush experience first hand, the daily life the iraq people had to endure under his perspective of democracy and freedom.

better yet, the us government should get out of the business of spreading democracy and freedom. you are far from a peace maker, in your world or those a world away. bush and your government are the biggest threat to humanity.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- Suicide bombers infiltrated a line of police recruits and a crowd of Shiite pilgrims Thursday as insurgents killed 125 civilians and five U.S. soldiers, escalating attacks while political factions worked to forge a coalition government.

The stark surge in post-election violence produced familiar but heartrending images on a day that was the fourth deadliest since the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003.

A woman and an infant girl in a bright red jumpsuit lay in a pool of blood, their faces covered by a sheet as men ferried the wounded in pushcarts in Karbala, 50 miles south of Baghdad. Ball bearings lay scattered on the bare earth next to Shiite Islam's holiest shrine in Iraq.

... But in a chord struck by several politicians Thursday, the party also condemned policies it said were imposed by the U.S.-led coalition that were hampering Iraqi security forces' counterterrorism work. The Americans have increased their oversight of Shiite-dominated security forces following widespread charges of abuse, especially of Sunni Arab detainees.

"Not allowing these two ministries to do their job means exposing helpless Iraqis to ruthless terrorists," SCIRI said. "They should know that the patience of our people will not last for a long time with these sectarian dirty crimes."...
