just amazing how much money is flying this way and that way ....
but i am getting more and more tired of seeing 'Canada's new government' ; and i would object to the same, regardless of who was / is in power. do your advertising elsewhere, and not on the Canada Government website. next we'll end up seeing in on government stationary / forms ect.; (it isn't yet is it?) ...
Canada’s new government grants $500,000 in funding to the Corporation du Théâtre du Palais Municipal
Saguenay, Quebec, February 12, 2007 – Canada Economic Development
The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, today announced the awarding of $500,000 in non-repayable funding to the Corporation du Théâtre du Palais Municipal to update the production La Fabuleuse Histoire d’un Royaume on the eve of the show’s 20th season and, in so doing, breathe new life into one of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean’s major tourist attractions.
“Much more than merely a large-scale production, La Fabuleuse Histoire d’un Royaume is a mission of love that has become the pride of an entire region,” commented Minister Blackburn. Indeed, each year this event draws on the energy and dynamism of nearly 200 volunteer actors and attracts more than 40,000 spectators, making it a major economic lever for the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region. “Now, La Nouvelle Fabuleuse ou Les aventures d'un Flo will be able to continue nourishing the region’s artistic community while serving as an exceptional springboard for our young people,” the Minister added.
With this contribution, Canada’s new government is lending concrete support to the artistic community and La Baie population as a whole. This project is also well in line with the objectives of Canada Economic Development’s Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean business office to foster the diversification of the tourism offering and further the economic growth of the region.
