Vancouver voters aren't giving ex-Liberal MP David Emerson an easy ride for his surprise jump to the Conservatives - and neither are many Internet bloggers. ... acerbic bloggers, people with online web logs, began to voice their displeasure. ... posts with headlines like, "I live in a puppet dictatorship," and "Clash of the turncoats." And unlike most mainstream media, bloggers haven't held back on the sometimes scathing commentary. Even some conservative bloggers seem to be outraged, after their preferred party campaigned on restoring accountability to politics. Ontario Conservative member Gary McHale writes in his new blog, removeemerson.blogspot. com, "If conservative people will not stand up against this, then this Conservative party will be no different than the Liberals in five years." An online petition calling for Emerson to run in a byelection in his Vancouver-Kingsway riding had received more than 200 signatures last night. ...
